Our new carbon fiber / kevlar 3d-printed handles are in the process of final development. Expectations are to have the first of these, this week! The 3d print capability is part of our next-generation work, which will incorporate lasers, as well, when everything is up and running. The intention is to bring more selection and personalization to our gear. At DSS, we make the art of war.... for legends.

We once had the above revolver map filled with visitor hits from all over the planet. I like the slower pace these days, but would love to enjoy that level of involvement again. Who knows what the future will bring? Our daughter, Toni is learning the knife making skill and will eventually take over. I have high hopes for a bright future with all you "edgy" knife people out there! Whenever someone new visits, the globe will put a custom pin in place. Don't worry - for all you conspiracy-minded folks.... the visitor data is not retained anywhere... only evidence you were here is a dot on a virtual globe.

HISTORY and Introduction

DSS Tactical was officially founded following Extortion 17, the operation on August 6, 2011, in which a terrible loss of life occurred for some of the U.S.'s most highly trained and battle-honed commandos. Numbered amongst the 38 dead, were 15 men from the Gold Squadron of the Naval Special Warfare Development Group, (SEAL Team 6). Prior to August 2011, the knife works, which was titled "DS-Tactical, existed as a hobby, preparing special projects, mostly as a fun diversion, for people from all walks of life.

When Extortion 17 occurred, Dave and Sheri Rogers sought a way to assist the families of the Naval Special Warfare community, and elected to design a special knife for auction, with the proceeds to go to the Navy Seal Foundation. The business later took the name "DSS," adding the extra "S" to honor a special friend amongst the SEALs. Following years saw many more benefit knives, and special projects for active and retired members of the regular military and the special operations community.

For a decade, the business of two people, continued to produce custom hardware in a tough-shed in the desert of New Mexico. Illness shut things down for a while, but in 2022, the knife shop lights were turned back on.... in Arkansas.

Below, are a few of our favorites, but i am building a page which features a whole lot more of our "previous projects." To view those, navigate using the thingie in the upper left corner of this page.... or just press "HERE."
