THE BULLSHARK (AFK) ADVANCED ASSAULT KNIFE

The Bullshark Advanced Assault Knife was the second special operations-focused knife project we designed. However, the original concept was born from a message received from a friend in Naval Special Warfare. The original art was received via that message suggested a knife that not only "WAS" the thing, but also "LOOKED" the thing as well.

The final design of this hand-drawing, done in the field somewhere across the world, was the original Tangi River Bullshark we provided for charity auction. Below are the iterations of this design... maybe not all that we made, but certainly a very good representative group of pics.

The ZEUS ADVANCED ASSAULT KNIFE

The ZEUS Advanced Assault Knife was the very first design we made at the request of our SEAL pal. It was based upon the generalized specs he gave "D" during a call. When the final blade was retrieved from the forge and quench.... and was held in our hands, "D" was perusing his science articles, and found an article on a dig in Greece, in which a jar was discovered with the first representation of a Spartan warrior and his weapon (a xiphos ), found on pottery....

Oddly, the list of requirements for a SEAL knife, by one of their members, produced a weapon oddly similar to the representation of a Xiphos on an ancient piece of pottery.

I suppose it proves that no matter the age, the needs for a battlefield knife will never really change.

Above: An early ZEUS blank with hand-polished G10 phenolic laminate handles. "S" spent many weeks getting these handle pieces to look like this via wet-sanding. G10 is very tough stuff.

In point of fact, however, this project didn't use these handle pieces, and they were saved for nearly two decades before being applied to a knife project.

THE WHITE SHARK

The White Shark Advanced Combat Knife was our third design. Slightly front-weighted, the knife has an aggressive tooth pattern and all-around sharp edges. It is meant for extreme field-survival applications and is a great knife for the great outdoors... especially the kind of outdoors where you might be in military uniform.
